USA
GreenGoose imports the Covington, this sweet potato variety originates from the United States of America. It is cultivated both in a conventional and biological manner. Both cultivation variants are available year-round. GreenGoose collects the Covington sweet potatoes several times per week, guaranteeing the delivered products are daily fresh and of the best quality.
ABOUT THE COVINGTON SWEET POTATO
Covington sweet potatoes have a sturdy and rose-colored skin with deep orange colored flesh. The variety has a lot of nutrients (fibers, beta-carotene and vitamin A, C and E) and is very popular and well suited for cooking (baking, steaming and mashing). Covington sweet potatoes are moist and creamy; they are the type that contains the most water. Thanks to its sturdy peel this variety is perfectly fit for transport and storage.
EGYPT
GreenGoose started a joint venture with a local Egyptian sweet potato grower. This partner, with whom GreenGoose has a reliable relationship, grows the Beauregard sweet potato. This type is grown in a conventional manner and is available from July until December. Thanks to this cooperation GreenGoose has sweet potato fields in Egypt that spread over one hundred hectares of land.
ABOUT THE BEAUREGARD SWEET POTATO
Beauregard sweet potatoes have a copper-colored skin with orange colored flesh. This variety is oblong shaped and is a little less sweet compared to the Covington. The Beauregard has a lot of nutrients (beta-carotene and vitamin A, C and E) and is very well suited for cooking (baking, steaming, mashing and freezing).
